Hector Serrano’s Homage to the Pantheon Dome
Hector Serrano and their installation crew Borealis, created this glowing architectural monument for the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. Dome was inspired by Rome’s pantheon dome architecture. Most often pantheon dome’s were considered to be a building that was devoted to God. The building consisted of a circular ceiling supported by large columns at regular intervals that hold up the dome shaped ceiling.

Explosion Proof Lighting: What is it?
Explosion proof lighting, it may seem like such a far off world of lighting. What is it and why would someone need a light that is strong enough to withstand an explosion? Well, explosion proof lighting aka hazardous location lighting or intrinsically safe lights are used in areas where there are flammable petrochemical vapors and other potential hazards. These lights are closely regulated and in order to officially fall into this category need to be UL certified and compliant to OSHA’s safety standards.

While staring at the Garden of Light installation you may begin to wonder if you have in fact landed on another planet. Surely flowers do not glow like this on earth. But they do when they are part of Joana Vasconcelo’s art light installation Garden of Eden.

A Wisconsin Garden Wonderland & A Fish Bowl Chandelier
In this Wisconsin Garden Wonderland visitors are delighted with whimsical garden statues made from clay garden pots, charming bird houses and a glass chandelier with real live gold fish. The glass chandelier hangs in the garden and is used primarily for garden parties. The chandelier’s bowls hold water and gold fish during the parties and then afterwards the gold fish go home with the guests.
