The Glowing Faux Tree: D + I Floor Lamp

The D + I Floor Lamp was made is France by Presse Citron. Mimicing the shape of a real live tree trunk, the designer used polyethylene to create the D + I Floor Lamp’s exterior and fluorescent lighting for the internal light source. The four foot tall height of this floor lamp makes it just about perfect for most rooms and even your favorite summer cabin.

Martinelli Luce’s 2057 Circular Pol Chandelier

This suspended luminaire’s circular shape glows like an angel’s halo. Designed by Emiliana Martinelli for Martinelli Luce the 2057 Circular Pol Chandelier is made from a structure of rotational molded polyethylene material and suspended with steel cables.

Dan Flavin: One of the Founding Fathers of Light Art

Dan Flavin is one of the founding fathers of light art and has been knee deep in the art light galleries since way back in 1960′s. His beginning pieces used some of the first types of fluorescent light bulbs available. As technology evolved so did Flavin’s illuminating and colorful designs.

Grosse 8′s Adaptation of the CL:OC

Created by the German design collective Grosse 8, CL:OC is an  intriguing visual. This installation consists of a series of hanging fluorescent tubes that are run by 28 motors.
